Hey dudes, meow! I finished this cat-damn game!

I'm pretty tired and exhausted. As I mentioned so many times, this project has been done in two weeks time. I swear, I started the May 9th from zero. I just made a prototype that looked like that:


From this little prototype, I built, I coded, I never gave up, swallowed trigonometry like never before, I made music, assets, graphics and today I can proudly say : challenge clear ! I made a video game in two weeks time. Thanks to Overdose (I don't know if mentions work here) for holding https://itch.io/jam/cat-boygirl. I don't know what he or she intended to do, but it really kicked my ass, gave me a lot of ideas. This game jam, whatever comes out from it, helped me improve a lot. I learned that I should have more self-confidence, like the future player who will play my game. Bullets hell are games where self-confidence is important.

One day next to the prototype, the game looked like that :



A HUD that was better than nothing and a black background, and maybe more colors. I had to work fast and a lot, day like night. And so...

Oh and guess what!

Since this is a game about a catboy, do you believe in karma? That's fine, everybody has the right to trust or believe all he or she wants! But the headmaster of a highschool called by by phone while I was making this game, and I might receive some great job carreers opportunities in a close future! And this is thanks to this game. Thanks to this May 2019.


Suggestions for future releases.

  • An easier mode
  • Should I nerf the level 3? Please let me know.

Updates.

  • Made the Game Over less brutal.
  • Made the not working "exit game" option in the main menu working.
  • Made the option which allow the player to go back to the main menu from pause menu.
  • Added a layer of background in level 2.
  • Added a layer of background in level 3.
  • Nerfed boss 5.
  • Improved global performance.
  • Exported to Linux x86_64 (still have to be tested).
  • Polished the HUD : added a mini banner and a mini background.
  • Made the Scoring System more generous with life giving.
  • Fixed aliasing problem (unless you play in low quality).
  • Added logo in the splash screen.
